The Mirage F1
|
Originally a private venture by Dassault but selected French Armée de l'Air as a replacement
for the Mirage III, more than 700 Mirage F1's were sold to some 11 countries. The Mirage
F1C (and F1C-200 upgrade) was the standard French fighter before the Mirage 2000 entered service.
Other variants included the exported F1A, a ground attack version of the F1C. A widely
exported F1E version was produced and featured upgraded electronics and radar. Tandem two-seat
trainer variants included the F1B and F1D. Two other versions are the F1CR reconnaissance
fighter and the advanced F1CT tactical combat aircraft.
