15 December 2019 - L'Iguane had painted two textures sets for the IAI Kfir in the scheme worn by the ATAC (Airborne Tactical Advantage Company). He has also modified the visual models of the original Kfir by Eduardo Fadul and the Michael Roberts FSX update.

9 December 2019 - Philippe Wallaert has updated another FS2004 vintage Mirage subject for use in FSX and Prepar3D v3 (32-bit).  This time it is the Mirage G8 by Patrice Grange.  This complete package includes new gauges where needed and has standard and widescreen panel options.

4 December 2019 - Normally I do this on the last week of November but there was a little celebrating to be done.  So I have put up the annual Holiday Season's Greeting on the Home page.  The image of a 'Mirage in Snow' this year was taken by Stefan Mieszkowski in 2013 of a Mirage IIIC at the Air Museum near Lódz Wladyslaw Reymont Airport in Poland.  Mirage IIIC No. 36 was possibly the only non-Soviet aircraft in a collection of 30-plus MiG's, Sukhoi's and Ilyushin's at the museum.  It was the last fighter to leave when the collection was dispersed starting in 2011.

28 November 2019 - So officially today this website is 20 years old.  It began as something to occupy the time on a long Thanksgiving weekend with a only a few aircraft, a couple instrument panels, and a few scenery files.  Since then it has grown to over 1250 aircraft and repaints, over 130 different instrument panels, scenery covering Mirage activity all around the world, and much more.  Throughout this time I have had the opportunity to meet many great fellow enthusiasts, be they aircraft designers, texture painters, aircraft carrier designers, panel/gauge designers, scenery designers, and all the flightsimmers who share my passion for the Mirage. Thank you all for making this website what it is today and for making the past 20 years more interesting.

26 November 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted up a special scheme for the AI Mirage 2000D of Fernando Martinez to help with the celebration this week.  Mark has painted many AI Étendard, Mirage III, Mirage F1, Mirage 2000 and Rafale textures over the years.  The special scheme Mark has painted this time is a complete wrap-around style commemorating the upcoming anniversary of this website.  It is a very striking scheme and I will have to integrate some of the design into the overall look of this website.  After all it hasn't changed a bit (byte?) in almost 20 years.  Thank you Mark!

24 November 2019 - A very special day is coming up this week for this website.  I have asked a couple long-time contributors if they would like to participate by making a special texture available to mark the occasion.  The first offering is from Bertrand Barbé of France who has painted many Étendard, Mirage III, Mirage 5, Mirage 2000 and Rafale textures over the years.  He is giving the community four pixel/splinter type texture sets for the Mirage 2000C of Metal2Mesh.  Thank you Bertrand!

17 November 2019 - Philippe Wallaert has updated the Mirage IV by David Bushell for use in FSX and Prepar3D v3 (32-bit).  The complete package includes new gauges and has standard and widescreen panel options.

13 November 2019 - Another set of Mirage 2000 textures by saibot_20194.  This new set represents the gray metal scheme worn by Prototype-01 in 1978.  The textures are for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh.

6 November 2019 - Another DCS coverted texture from the FAFZone Association website in a while.  This time a repaint by Olivier Anstett of a Mirage 2000C assigned to the ESTA (Aeronautic Technical Support Escadrons) in colors to celebrate the 10th Anniversary at BA 133 'Nancy-Ochey' (LFSO). The textures are for use with the M2KC from Metal2Mesh.

26 October 2019 - This past week marked the 20th anniverary of the Mirage 2000-5F in service with the Armée du l'Air.  The Mirage 2000-5F is operated by EC 1/2 'Cigognes' at BA 116 Luxeuil-Saint Sauveur (LFSX) air base.  To commerate the anniversary a special scheme was applied to the port tail surface of one of the aircraft.  Mark "Tranquil" Beale has painted textures for use with the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martinez in this special scheme.

16 October 2019 - Georgette Kostopoulos has painted a new set of textures for the Dassault Super Mystère B2 by Wim Regeer.  In the style of previous repaints Georgette has painted a camouflaged Israel Air Force example.

5 October 2019 - Pascal Colin and "Rafale Tiger" have released a collection of repaints for the Mirage 2000C (M2KC) by Metal2Mesh.  The collection consists of 20 textures for aircraft of EC 02.005 'Ile de France' stationed at BA 115 Orange-Caritat.

26 September 2019 - Georgette Kostopoulos has painted a new set of textures for the Dassault MD-450 Ouragan by Thinus Pretorius.  In the style of previous repaints Georgette has painted a camouflaged Israel Air Force example.

15 September 2019 - Something a little different.  I found an interview with Marcel De Petter a former Mirage 5BA pilot with the Belgium Air Force.  In Part 1 he discusses flying the Belgian Mirage 5 in the air-to-ground role, being an instructor, DACT and his ejection in 1985.  In Part 2 he talks about his book "Mirage M5 B", transitioning onto the C-130 Hercules and his involvement with the restoration of Mirage 5 BD 09.

7 September 2019 - I haven't visited the FAFZone Association website in a while.  I've discovered several new repaints for the Metal2Mesh Mirage 2000.  You can of course download them all at once but I will be adding them to the listings here one or two at a time.  The first is a package of two Mirage 2000 aircraft in an Aggressor Blue scheme.

1 September 2019 - It has been nearly a decade since this original series of Nick Black/MAIW aircraft/airbase packages, built around the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martimez, started being released.  To extend the life of the Mirage 2000, Mark "Tranquil" Beale has taken on the task of creating new "aged" base textures and has repainted the entire Armée de l'Air Mirage 2000 fleet.

Mark then went further, with the help of Fabien Raoul, and researched the Mirage 2000 types and dispersement as of 2019.  The result is a reduction from over 250 aircraft at 10 airbases back in 2010 down to 115 aircraft at 7 airbases.  He has made packages with textures and traffic files for both FS9 and FSX/Prepar3D.  Be sure to read the included documentation.

22 August 2019 - Hamza Omar has painted textures for a Mirage 5 ROSE II of the Pakistan Air Force, No. 25 "Night Strike Eagles" Squadron at PAF Rafiqui (OPRQ).  The textures are for use with the Mirage III/5/Nesher by Mark Harper.

12 August 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted another Mirage 2000 of the DGA (Direction Générale de l'Armement) based at BA 120 Cazaux (LFBC).  The textures are for a Mirage 2000B in the "Connected Flight Test" scheme and are for use with the AI Mirage 2000 package by Fernando Martinez.

4 August 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted a Mirage 2000D in the special colors of the DGA (Direction Générale de l'Armement) based at BA 120 Cazaux (LFBC) for the 53rd International Paris Air Show in June 2019.  The textures are for use with the AI Mirage 2000 package by Fernando Martinez.

27 July 2019 - I came upon a scenery for BA 124 Strasbourg-Entzheim.  The project is the result of over two years developemnt by Jacques-Paul Bollard.  It represents the modern civilian base since the Armée de l'Aire ended flight operation in 1994 with many military buildings still remaining.  Included are photo-realistic ground textures, custom buildings, and effects.

19 July 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted three additional textures for the Rafale M of Flottilla 11F at BAN Landivisiau wearing special markings for the 100th year of 11F.  The textures, for use with the AI Rafale C/B/M package by Nick Black/MAIW, are included for both FS9 and FSX.

29 June 2019 - I came across a forum thread at Sim-Outhouse about using the Mirage 2000C from Metal2Mesh in Prepar3D v4.  With all of the textures we've had since its release and more to come it is nice to see she will work in a 64-bit sim.  More information can be found here and information on external configurations without needing TacPack is here.

23 June 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted textures for a Mirage 2000-5 of EC 3/11 'Corse' while stationed at Air Base 188 Djibouti for the 75th anniversary of the Squadron.  The aircraft has since been reassigned to EC 1/2 'Cigognes' at Air Base 116 Luxeuil-Saint Sauveur (LFSX) and no longer wears the special scheme.  The textures are for use with the AI Mirage 2000 package by Fernando Martinez.

16 June 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted textures for a Rafale C of the Aeronautical Technical Support Squadron (ESTA) 15.030 'Chalosse' at BA 118 Mont de Marsan (LFBM).  The special schemes marks the 10th Anniversary of ESTA 15/30.  The textures are for use with the AI Rafale C/B/M package by Nick Black/MAIW.

10 June 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted textures for two aircraft at the 2019 NATO Tiger Meet.  The first is a Mirage 2000D of EC 1/3 'Navarre' based at BA 133 'Nancy-Ochey' (LFSO).  The textures are for use with the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martinez.  The second is a Rafale C of EC 3/30 'Lorraine' based at BA 118 Mont de Marsan (LFBM).  The textures are for use with the AI Rafale C/B/M package by Nick Black/MAIW.  Both wear the "Tiger Is Coming" scheme with "Game of Thrones" font.

2 June 2019 - ARV187 has updated his previous FSX scenery of Los Llanos AB (LEAB) in Spain to work in Prepar3D v4.  This version includes photorealistic scenery of the surrounding area with user adjustable levels of detail as well as AI Mirage F1, Mirage 2000, and Rafale aircraft from MAIW.

26 May 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has sent some new texture files.  These are for use with the AI Rafale C/B/M package by Nick Black/MAIW.  The first is of a Rafale C from EC 3/30 'Lorraine' based at BA 118 Mont de Marsan (LFBM).  The special scheme was worn at the 2019 Tiger Meet to honor the 75th anniversary of D-Day.  Textures are included for both FS9 and FSX/P3D.

22 May 2019 - Website maintenance never ends.  I've updated all of the broken "aussiex.org" (OZx) links for the Mirage III and Mirage 5 repaints of Jan Kees Blom and Richard Luycx to "Avsim.net".  If you ever find a broken link on this website please don't hesitate to bring it to my attention.

11 May 2019 - The third in this series by Mark (Tranquil) Beale for use with the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martinez.  This set is another Mirage 2000D of EC 3/3 'Ardennes' with fuel tanks to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the squadron 'Ardennes'.

4 May 2019 - The second in the series by Mark (Tranquil) Beale for use with the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martinez.  This set is a Mirage 2000D of EC 3/3 'Ardennes' based at BA 133 'Nancy-Ochey' (LFSO).  The scheme commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the squadron 'Ardennes'.

25 April 2019 - Mark (Tranquil) Beale has painted a new series of repaints for the AI Mirage 2000 by Fernando Martinez.  This first is a Mirage 2000D of EC 2/3 'Champagne' based at BA 133 'Nancy-Ochey' (LFSO).  The scheme commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the squadron 'Champagne' in 2017.  The scheme was applied to Mirage 2000D 3-IU of EC 1/3 "Navarre".

14 April 2019 - A new set of textures by Hamza Omar.  This set represents a Mirage IIIDP of the Pakistan Air Force, 7 "Bandits" Squadron in 50th Anniversary scheme for the Mirage in PAF service.  The textures are for use with the Mirage IIIB by Restauravia.

6 April 2019 - Hamza Omar has painted textures for a Mirage 5DD of the Pakistan Air Force, 15 "Cobras" Squadron at PAF Base Rafiqui (OPRQ).  The textures are for use with the Mirage IIIB by Restauravia.

30 March 2019 - Long ago during a slow month I decided to include fictional Mirage related subjects on this website.  There have been some new Mirage F1 repaint packages released based on the original FS2000 Mirage F1 by Kirk Olsson.  The aircraft model is included but the sounds and instrument panel are aliased to the default Lear45.  The aircraft will fly in FS2004 but a known issue, as mentioned long ago on the Notes page, is that the aircraft floats on invisible landing gear and the animations do not work.  The textures represent fictional US Army 86th Division and Australian Republic Air Force units.

23 March 2019 - I stumbled upon some older scenery files I hadn't seen before for air bases in South Africa.  The first is Makhado AFB (FALM) by Jacques Botha and Frits Beyer.  The second is Langebaanweg AFB (FALW) by Jacques Botha.  Both are for FSX/P3D and will give you new bases to fly the SAAF Mirage IIICZ/DZ/EZ, Mirage F1AZ/CZ, and Cheetah C/D/E to and from.

18 March 2019 - A final set of Mirage 2000 textures by Jens-Ole Kjølberg this time.  This set represents a Mirage 2000P of the Peru Air Force, Grupo Aéreo 4.  The textures are for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh.  After Brazil withdrew its M2000s, Peru is now the sole operator of the type in Latin America.

2 March 2019 - One more set of textures for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh have been made by saibot_20194.  This set represents Mirage 2000-04 Prototype in the definitive blue and gray scheme.

22 February 2019 - Another set of Mirage 2000 textures by Jens-Ole Kjølberg.  This set represents a Mirage 2000RAD of the United Arab Emirates Air Force based at Abu Dhabi/Al Dhafra (OMAM).  The textures are for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh.

15 February 2019 - Philippe Wallaert has made an update to the Rafale C package by Cyril Pioffet.  The original FS2002 package has been updated for use with FSX and up P3Dv3 (so 32-bit only).  Instrument panel options for standard or widescreens are included.  The flight model is very smooth and responsive.

7 February 2019 - Jens-Ole Kjølberg has painted up several texture sets for the M2K-C (Mirage 2000C) by Metal2Mesh.  The first two represent Mirage 2000H aircraft of the Indian Air Force.  One in a pre-delivery scheme without insignia and a second assigned to the 40 Wing stationed at Gwalior/Maharajpur AFS (VIGR).

30 January 2019 - Another set of Mirage 2000 textures by saibot_20194 this time.  Two sets are included and represent the red/white/blue schemes worn by Prototype-02.  The textures are for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh.

19 January 2019 - New textures for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh have been made by saibot_20194.  The first set, referred to as grey, represents the Mirage 2000-04 Prototype in the unpainted metal scheme.

12 January 2019 - I'm admittedly pushing the boundaries of "Other Mirage" with this one.  Thomas Roehl has been modifying the FSX/P3D Falcon 20 of Arild Elverum.  One of his modifications has been to add the radome of a Mirage F1CR to make a Falcon 20 SNR used as a training aircraft by the Armée de l'Air.  This is similar to the Mystère XX SNA described for us by Michel Gérard.

5 January 2019 - Joe Laars painted a Mirage 2000C of Escadron de Chasse 1/2 'Cigognes' in a unique Air Superiority Blue (ASB) scheme.  EC 1/2 was the first Mirage 2000 unit and operated the Mirage 2000 from BA 102 Dijon-Longvic (LFSD) but is now stationed at BA 116 Luxeuil Saint-Sauveur (LFSX).  The textures are for use with the Mirage 2000C by Metal2Mesh.
